FLOOR ONE COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
This floor spotlights the College of Health Sciences’ deep connection to the community, starting with its light-filled atrium and living wall, featuring a unique vertical garden. This first floor also houses a 300-seat multipurpose audion and adjoining demonstration kitchen, which can be used for healthy cooking demonstrations, in addition to being a unique experiential learning space for faculty and students. Together, these spaces create a public showcase for learning and collaboration.

Located in the audion, the demonstration kitchen is used for healthy cooking demonstrations a well as by nutrition faculty and students as a unique experiential learning space. The space also doubles as a catering kitchen that can be used for events. It provides many opportunities for education and research to link our surrounding communities.
This signature multi-purpose space is used for events ranging from community lectures and cooking demonstrations, to large-scale conferences and meetings. A state-of-the-art audio visual system is integrated throughout the space.
A feature of the atrium area, the living wall and chef’s garden is a sustainable, horizontal garden that greet students, faculty and visitors as they enter the atrium space, and is a signature piece for the theme of the building – prevention and wellness based on the science of health.
