Dr. Darcy Reisman will serve as the incoming Chair of the College of Health Sciences Department of Physical Therapy, beginning Sept. 1. She will take over the position vacated by Dr. Gregory Hicks, who starts in his new role July 1 as deputy dean for the college.
“We are excited to have her expertise and wisdom to lead Physical Therapy and to have her leadership in CHS,” Dean Kathleen S. Matt said.
Dr. Reisman received her bachelor’s degree in health science and her master’s degree in physical therapy from the College of St. Scholastica. She earned her doctorate in Biomechanics and Movement Science at the University of Delaware and completed post-doctoral training at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Dr. Reisman has been a part of the UD Physical Therapy faculty since 2003 and has served as associate chair since 2015.
The University of Delaware Department of Physical Therapy was named the top graduate program in the nation in the 2017 edition of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Graduate Schools.
