As plans for the fall semester continue in the College of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing welcomes Dr. Elizabeth Speakman, EdD, RN, FNAP, ANEF, FAAN, as Senior Associate Dean.
Dr. Speakman began her new role on Aug. 1. She previously served as the associate provost of interprofessional and telehealth education at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she served at Thomas Jefferson University as the co-director of the Jefferson Interprofessional Education Center (JCIPE), and also as associate dean of Student Affairs and assistant dean of the RN/BSN Program in the Jefferson College of Nursing.
She takes over from Kathy Schell, who has served as interim associate dean since July 1, 2019. The School of Nursing is grateful for Kathy’s steady hand over the years. In addition to her time as interim, she also served as director of the School of Nursing from 2010 to 2015, playing a vital role in curriculum change, mentorship and the expansion of evidence-based practice and research.
