ON-CAMPUS LEARNING
Many students in the UD College of Health Sciences headed back to campus for the fall semester of 2020 with new precautions in place to keep them safe during crucial hands-on learning opportunities. Most students on campus are preparing for clinical placements, internships and patient care, making their in-person training essential amid a mostly virtual semester at the University of Delaware.
RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT

Increasing the Visibility of Black Scientists
Kayla Seymore wants to help other Black scientists increase their visibility and numbers in research, labs and other STEM careers where they have been traditionally underrepresented. Seymore, a doctoral student in the UD BIOMS program, is a co-founder of the Black Biomechanists Association, which aims to provide professional development, funding opportunities and mentoring to encourage the engagement and retention of Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) within the field of biomechanics.
