Core Facilities for Molecular, Biochemical, Cellular and Bioinformatic studies
At the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (DBI), there are extensive core facilities that support molecular and cellular work, including microscopy, proteomics, physical biochemistry, genetics and genomics and bioinformatics. These include microscopy (confocal, live cell imaging, SEM/TEM, fluorescence); Illumina technology; Proteomics with 2-D separations and mass spectrometry.

Person-based studies:
The Research Core, housed in the Delaware Rehabilitation Institute, provides assistance with patient based studies. These services are offered on a fee-for-service basis and include:
- Assistance with research subject recruitment
- Coordination of research test sessions
- Training and intervention sessions
- Coordinating clinical trials
- Generate data for progress reports
IRB: We also offer assistance with the study of human subjects through the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Health Services Research:
This group will work with researchers and assist them in analyzing Medicaid/Medicare data, Health economics, workforce analysis, disaster management.
Regional Partners and Core Facilities:
With the help of our partners in the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance (DHSA) we are able to connect researchers with A.I. Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE; Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE; Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and other regional clinical partners who can help advance research though collaboration and access to their technology and core facility infrastructure.
