Dr. David Tulsky, Director of the Center for Health Assessment Research and Translation at the University of Delaware, and his team were recently selected to receive funding by the Department of Defense’s Spinal Cord Injury Research Program.
The team is receiving approximately $1.75 million over the course of three years to implement a clinical trial of a video-based program they have developed to help assess and treat individuals with spinal cord injuries who are suffering from anxiety and depression.
The program is designed to assess each patient and present short animated videos featuring treatment strategies tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
The project also features a close collaboration with the University of Delaware’s Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences.
Clinical trials are set to take place at the Kessler Foundation and the East Orange VA Medical Center.
